The casino is a place to gamble. A place of luck, chance and vain hope. A place where people have staked their fortunes on a number or a colour only to find it didn’t come up today. Not the kind of place to go if you want to be absolutely, 100% sure of a return. And yet sometimes we can treat faith like a dash of empty hope or even simple good fortune.
I’m guessing you probably wouldn’t be in church today if you didn’t somehow want to please God. Well the bible says that it is impossible to please him without this thing called faith. (Hebrews 11: 6)
So we better know what it is and how we keep it – even when the going gets tough.

What is faith? Just blind hope? Someone once said that faith is the next step on from hope. Hebrews 11: 1 says…
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
What does a life of faith actually look like in human being? What can we learn from those great heroes of faith mentioned in Hebrews 11?
