The greatest sports show on earth is on our doorstep.
You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally. (1 Corinthians 9: 24 MSG)
John Wesley famously said ‘Give me 10 men who hate nothing but sin and love nothing but God, and we will change the world.
A passionate attitude… an almost obsessive commitment to the cause… without it you’ll never be a gold medal winning Olympian or a contented Christ follower.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might… (Ecclesiastes 9: 10)
And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. (Colossians 3: 23)
