Big buts of the Bible - Revenge

Big buts … this isn’t a fancy Christian weight loss plan. It’s a new way to live.
This simple word ‘but’ is such a small word. However, when Jesus used it, that little word changed everything. In his first major public address he speaks to a large crowd on a mountainside and says,
‘You’ve always heard… culture has always told you… BUT now I’m telling you how it really is…’
When we are hurt we want to get back at the person who did the hurting. Its called revenge. And it’s not nice. BUT Jesus says there is a better way that sets us free from cycles of vengeance in the face of the wrongs that have done to us.
That’s one BIG but…
